Liza Farrow-Gillespie Partner

Liza Farrow-Gillespie practices law in the areas of business law and litigation, bankruptcy, asset protection and estate planning, probate, nonprofit organizations, and elder law.  Former permanent briefing attorney to the late United States District Judge Barefoot Sanders until his retirement in 2007, Liza also consults on federal court procedure and protocol.

Ms. Farrow-Gillespie is a 1992 honors graduate of the University of Texas School of Law, where she was executive editor of the Texas Law Review, recipient of the Dean's Distinguished Achievement Award in constitutional law, and a member of the Order of the Coif.  She received the Texas Law Review Association's "Outstanding Editor" award and Assault & Flattery's "Outstanding Achievement" award.  Liza is a former litigation associate with the Dallas firm of Cohan Simpson Cowlishaw and Wulff LLP, now merged with Jackson Walker LLP. 

Ms. Farrow-Gillespie's professional memberships include the Dallas Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), the Life Care Planning Law Firm Association, the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, and the Screen Actors Guild.

Ms. Farrow-Gillespie is a licensed open-ocean sailing captain, and in 2004 completed a two-person circumnavigation on a 54-foot sloop.  Her book Three-Sixty is set for publication in 2010.  She is a member of the American Constitution Society, the Dallas Democratic Forum, Attorneys Serving the Community, the Texas Exes, the Kappa Alpha Theta Alumnae Association, and genealogical societies including Daughters of the American Revolution, the Huguenot Society, Colonial Dames, and Magna Carta Dames.  Liza serves on the board of directors for No Child in Pain (Foundation for Pediatric Pain Management) and on the Board of Trustees of the Dallas Opera.  She is an active fundraiser for the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Event, which she completed in 2007 and 2008. 

Liza and her husband, Alan Farrow-Gillespie, M.D., celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary in 2010.
